Paper Doily Table Runner

 Happy October First, everyone!!
One of my favorite, long anticipated months has finally arrived!!  Time for ghost stories, s'mores, spiders and faux webs, pumpkin carving, witches brew, dry ice cauldrons and witches on brooms, owls with glowing eyes, spooks and goblins!  Ah, I love October and Halloween.  A hint of mischief is in the air, an atmosphere of anticipation.  Late nights and scary tales, suspenseful movies.

I will admit that when I first painted Sister's table my immediate thought was how good it would be for Halloween.  I decided to dress it up a little with a homemade paper doily table runner that looks like fancy lace.  It literally cost me $1 to make.  I got two packages of 24 paper doilies from the $1 store and so far, I have been able to make 3 of these lacy runners.  All it takes are about 9 doilies per runner (depending on the length of the table,) and some glue.  To make it look like aged lace, you could even dip the doilies in tea first, let dry, then glue together into a table runner.  It has all sorts of possibilities! It would be perfect for a party decoration.

I also tied some little ghosties on her bamboo screen.  I'm thinking of maybe adding some lights to it to add some more Halloween flare.  And adding some table scatter to the dining room table.  I'm not done yet!  Mwahahaha.  Until next time, my dears!

  1. Hi Sarah, cute runners! I wanted to thank you for leaving the sweet comment on my Orange & Turquoise Fall Mantel post. I am fine with you using a picture from the post as long as you link back to Posed Perfection as the source. Also, I'd love to see the post when you have it up on your blog. Would you mind shooting me an email when it goes live? Thanks a ton! Hope you have a great week!
    Blessings,
