Closing

                   The house is ours!!
We closed on Tuesday.  And by 'we' I mean David.  I was unfortunately stuck in Edmond doing mundane things such as choir and opera rehearsals...(during which we did get a lot accomplished.)  It is move in ready and we (and again I mean 'we' as in David and my Parents) have begun moving things in.  My parents came down yesterday and help load up the bedroom suite that we got from EARC Thrift store.  It's very nice!  A 5 piece set at a very decent price.  We also got to enjoy a delicious dinner at Earl's Rib Palace, (home of Oklahoma's best BBQ!!)  Though I will be going there this weekend to help with the moving process.  Maybe now would be a good time to clear out a few of my holiday decoration tubs that are sitting in my kitchen in Edmond and taking up space in the shed out back... Surely there's room for 4 tubs somewhere...
Another fun thing about this weekend:  in the backyard of our new house there is a shed.  This shed is full of things!!  Furniture-galore!  We get to go through it.  There are some amazing looking red velvety arm chairs that I hope to get my hands on.  So it shall be quite an adventure on what we find.  We can't even see everything that's in there by just glancing in.  Wish us luck!!  I already have so many decorating ideas that it's hard to keep track!
We hope to have a house warming party soon!

New Home

We have taken the next big step and are almost at the tail end of closing on a house for us.  It's a very exciting step to be taking together.  We just lack one signature to officially call the house ours!  The tentative closing date is Wednesday, January 25.  We will see if this happens, due to a slight hitch in peeling paint on the shed. But David and a friend painted the wall in question, so it is still to be determined if we will still close on the above mentioned date.
It's a beautiful home in Tulsa that is 2 bed/2bath, formal/den living room, spacious kitchen and eating area, possible formal dining or office space, sun room, crafting/laundry room, garage with attic, huge backyard with big workshop and small shed, and an underground storm shelter.  It's in a quiet older neighborhood and we couldn't be happier.  It's a good starter home that we can't wait to call our own for years to come.  We have even begun acquiring furniture already and have purchased a bedroom set and a couch and loveseat.  Pictures soon to come.

Phone Kiss

Aaaand just one more post for today, promise!  I ran across  this picture from our first engagement shoot and had to share.  It's so neat!

Urban Photos

David and I had a second engagement photo session before Christmas and I am very happy with the results.  Tyler is such a talented photographer and we are so lucky to have him and his wife Shurayah as friends!  This time, we chose a city setting as our backdrop.  These photos were taken in Downtown Tulsa.

So I re-edited this post and added different, full size pictures.  This was such a fun shoot!  The one with the red truck was funny because I wanted to get a picture of us jumping down off the ledge while holding hands.  He did not want to jump.  So it was a stand-off for a little while, which is why we both have our arms crossed.  The bricks, soda & cigar and wooden door are all on the same little corner in downtown.  It was such a neat spot  that my parents and I ran across earlier last year on the day we were leaving for North Carolina.  David was far better than I at remembering where it was.

VENUE

So I promise this is the final change in venue.  I have it booked, security deposit made.  All I have to do is sign my name.  We have chosen Olivet Baptist Church in Tulsa to host this wonderful celebration.  It has been my home church for over 10 years.  It is filled with such loving people and means a lot to me, so it only made sense to choose it.  Now the planning details can begin! (And begin they have)
More updates soon to come.  I am sure that I will get plenty more ideas when I attend my first Bridal Show!  I am very excited!!  Not to mention, I'll get to wear my Sexy Little Bride jacket that was a great find from one of my mom's friends.
Well that's all for now.  Today, I am going to donate platelets with OBI.  I feel like it's a great way to be able to give back to my community and am happy to do it.
