Formal Living

Hubby was a trooper.  He taped up and painted this whole room by himself.  That was a lot of painting!  And multiple coats!  Not to mention the tedious task of the blue tape.  I was very thankful for everything that he did to the house while I was still living in Edmond.  I would get daily picture updates and enojoy getting to see our house transform from a blank palette into a thriving home.

Pardon the mess, but it's almost heard to believe that this is the same living room.  Everything in the house was white, white, white!  We needed some color in there ASAP.  The paint color is Pomegranate I believe, and it was a perfect match for our red barn paintings.  The paintings actually have a fun story behind them.  The first one shown in the corner with the table lamp (from Kirkland's, love that place) was from a place in Tulsa called Persimmon Hollow Village.  It's a neat place full of rustic buildings containing anything from woord working to Coca Cola memorbilia.  We got it for about $5!!  The 4 small ones, we found on one of our antique excursions somewhere in Oklahoma. They are all 5 painted on what looks to be linen, or a fine burlap, all bearing the same signature.  I call this my Christmas room because ofthe red and the snow pictures.  Decorating this house was just so much fun!!

Updating

As promised, I am ready with some updates for you. I'll start off with some house pictures first since those are what I have most handy.
This is a picture of what the entryway living room looked like when we moved in, carpet protector and all.

Long Absence

So sorry to have been gone for so long.  I actually lost how to access this blog and then got busy and fell behind.  I hope that no one was too worried.  I hope to get you all caught up soon on what has happened since my last post about finally closing on the house.  Much has been done, but I won't overwhelm you by giving it to you all at once.  Like they say "Rome wasn't built in a day."  But until I can get all of my piled of photos organized, here is a little freebie of me enjoying the bubble tea that I found at OK Asian Market here in Tulsa.
                                                                   Until next time!
