Wreath Attempt

As has been happening more frequently, I was in a crafty mood today.  These wreaths and their letters have been sitting in my room for weeks now, so today I decided to experiment with them.  I hopped on over to Hancock Fabrics and bought a couple of spools of ribbon and whipped out my needle, thread and hot glue gun! Now I have never claimed to be a great bow crafter, so this is a rough attempt.  Maybe I will drop the bow and just go with some nice orange and cream flowers or something.  This bow just doesn't hold me.  But I just thought I would share this first attempt with you all!  I hung it on my front door so it would get the best light.I am going to have to rethink this.  Then again, I didn't expect to be wowed on my first try.

Details, Details!

So as I said, I was going to share how I was pulling in all of my colors.  I am going to begin with my favorite color!  Since I had begun dreaming of getting married, I'd always said my colors were going to be teal and mustard seed yellow.  Fall had such wonderful colors to offer (!!) but I couldn't let go of my Teal.  I am
hoping to pull in the teal in the bridesmaids dresses.

Something along these lines.  A tea length dress is a classic length dress.  I didn't want anything dragging the ground, nor did I want shorty dresses above the knee, especially since November has cooler weather.  So a tea length is a happy medium!

Of course, I'm not going to do this exact thing, but maybe to pull in the brown, I want clear jars with items such as cinnamon, walnuts...and what other brown things are there?  I am also hoping to include grapevine wreaths, such as these:
But a variation.  I bought grapevine leaves, painted a 'D' and an 'S' orange, and am going to hang them in the middle of the wreaths instead and make some sort of orange and cream ribbon bow at  the top.  I'll try to upload pictures later.  All of the pictures that I have uploaded so far are from pinterest.com.  (I am obsessed with this website and spend hours on it)
I think I might have gotten carried away and just threw all of the colors together, but there you have it.  More to come!

Color Scheme

Since my wedding is going to be in the Fall (my favorite season) I am pulling in a palette of Fall colors, including burnt orange, dark brown, cream, and then my favorite color, teal.

These are some inspirations from www.theperfectpalette.com and blog.weddingpaperdivas.com.  On my next post, I will go into how I am planning on pulling together all of those wonderful colors!

A New Phase of life

I have begun preparing for a new phase of life.
Here is the story:

David and I spent most of the 4th of July at my grandmother's house popping firecrackers, baking cookies and spending time with my family.  That night, we went to Riverpark's big fireworks show.  My cousin and a couple of mine and David's friends were in attendance.  One of his friends happened to be taking photos of the fireworks.  David casually asked his friend to take pictures of us.  So we stood up and hugged for the pictures.  David began digging in his pocket and before I knew it, he was kneeling down on one knee!  With the fireworks blossoming in the background, David asked me to marry him!!  I squealed as tears sprang to my eyes and said YEEEESS!!  That was the happiest moment of my life!  I was completely and utterly surprised.  I cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together.  I could not ask for a better man to be my husband and take care of me.  Say hello to the future Mrs. Linde!!

I hope to chronicle the planning of my wedding on this blog.  I hope you enjoy!
