Sloppy Bowls

Here is a nice easy recipe for when you're trying to make a real quick but delicious dinner. (or lunch.) This is a recipe I found on Pinterest the other day while browsing.  I couldn't find the original recipe but ended up changing it anyway. (accidentally.)  It takes just 4 ingredients. 1. Pillsbury biscuits (or similar,) 2. 1 lb. ground beef, 3. Taco seasoning, and 4. Sloppy Joe Hickory Sauce. (the original called for a can of Manwhich meat.)I thought I was getting sloppy Joes mixed meat but just ended up getting a can of the sauce.)  It still turned out deliciously!!  Okay, I forgot a 5th ingredient: shredded cheese!  All I had was Italian blend and it was still really good!  Husband thought it would have been better with shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

Directions
1. Turn large muffin tin upside down and spray the bottoms of the cups.
2. Stretch and mold biscuits over the bottom of the cups and bake according to the biscuit can directions.
3. While the biscuits are baking, brown ground beef in a skillet, drain, then add taco seasoning and hickory sauce and mix it all together.
4. Scoop meat mixture into biscuit bowls and top with shredded cheese.
5. Enjoy!!

Welcome Home, Lincoln!

My Hubby's first car was a red '78 Lincoln that was passed down to him from his grandpa.  In their early driving years, he and his two best friends all drove Lincoln's.  Knowing who those two friends are, I feel like those kinds of cars really suited them.  They were all born older.  I joke about it sometimes and call Hubby my old man and that I'm there to keep him young, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.  His mom says it all the time that he's wise beyond his years, and yes, he may get along better with older folk rather than people his own age.  But it suits him.  He helped bring a mature foundation to our marriage that I am very thankful for.  So natuarally a Lincoln, thought of as a gentleman's car was a perfect fit.

    There she sits in all her classic glory.  Hubby's dream car.  He's wanted a 2 door Lincoln Continental with a 460 engine since he was a kid. So when he found one at a hard to resist price, he snatched it up!  We couldn't get the engine to run at first, so we bought a new battery and tweaked a coupel of things and the engine roared to life.  Of course, as soon as he took his foot offthe gas petal it'd die, but it was a start!

The interior needs to be cleaned out, seats reupholstered, some stuff (yes, that's a technical term) done to the engine, the electrical door locks and windows don't work, and some body work, including being painted and getting a new vinyl overlay on the roof.  Not too bad, considering it's age and what it could look like.  According to the tag, it was last tagged in February of this year, so it was still driving at one point this year.

    Needless to say, Hubby is very excited and has been working on it every day since we got it. 

    Now for me.  This is my latest craft project.  I gotthe idea from a friend that always had the cutest iPhone cases.  Her secret?  A clear iPhone case.  That way you could just print off pictures, cut them to size and have any kind of cover you wanted!!  I'm a person that likes to change seasonally.  I couldn't carry a pink iPhone case in the Fall, or an orange one in the Winter!  Problem solved!  This is a fun Springy/Summery one that I found online and printed off.  The case itself was about $10 online.  Nothing compared to the $30 and up cases that I see while out and about.

Boston Bound

Hubby and I are going on our first vacation together since our honeymoon last year!  (I know, I know, not that long a time ago.)  But it's our first time flying together.  And certainly the farthest we've traveled together.  Boston.  I. Am. Stoked.  We both are.  We're going to visit his family that's up there, see his dad, and meet his step mom for my first time.  So many firsts on this trip!  I've never been to Boston.  I've been to Cape Cod, but only for about 2 days to go to one of my cousin's weddings yeeeears ago.  (Which was an amazing trip as well and another story all together!)    Have I already mentioned how excited we are?  I am actually going to be going to bed soon.  Our flight leaves at 6:45am! (Much thanks to Mama in advance for driving us to the airport at an hour that no human was meant to see!) I've been packed for a week, and have had a packing list ready about 3 before that.  And not to mention, a list that lists out all of my outfits, each outfit grouped together by brackets.  I might or might not have my 4th of July outfit already picked out as well.  I would rather be over than under prepared! To get everyone excited, I have included a few things I'm really looking forward to.  Just a few.....

As promised, I found more pictures! Though they're not from past trips like I'd mentioned, (in all honesty I haven't started to look for them yet) they're still fun to look at. The kiddos (and adults) had a spinning, diving, and quacking good time!

It rained our last day there, but we prevailed and ducked on!

I love this picture of Grandma. She was so sweet to have planned this trip for the kiddos. We all remember how much fun we had as kids and she wanted to spread that joy on to the precious kiddos.

Honorary captain licenses for all the kiddos because they got to drive the duck when it was in the water.
